The candidate for the leadership of the Democratic Party, Ibsen Elezi spoke on the show “Top Talk” on Top Channel about the reason that pushed him to run for mayor.
Elezi said that the leaders of the Democratic Party have interfered in the election process, violating democracy.
According to him, the election of the PD deputy, Edi Paloka was an action that should not have been done, because despite the fact that he has acknowledged the interference they have made in the election process, he still continues his path in the party.
“We have been struggling for a long time with the fact that the ruling elite of the Democratic Party has participated in the manipulation of the electoral process and this is very serious in a democracy. “Mr. Paloka was more honest than he publicly acknowledged the people who commit these criminal acts in a democracy, unable to punish them.”said Elezi.
The candidate is concerned about the fact that the will of the majority has been implemented in the party, which essentially condemns democracy. He said that it does not make sense for a man who is accused of interfering in the elections to be placed in the direction of the DP, seeking the reaction that did not come from Berisha.
“Sali Berisha for his non-reaction takes its cost both within the Democrats and in public opinion. The people he is collaborating with have committed such an act that instead of condemning them, he is again pursuing them in the direction of the Democratic Party. So I have a very strong motive because Sali Berisha in this case is in a way violating the December 11 assembly“, Said Elezi.
This has been one of the reasons he has felt compelled to run to face this phenomenon.
“There are fundamental reasons that I thought of and saw as an obligation to run, to face this phenomenon,” he added.
