we verify some medications randomly from the official list. INJECTION Lincomycin, Spectinomycin is the first drug on the list. If you search the official EMA website, it does not turn out to be certified. So this means that it is registered in open violation of the law and can be considered risky.
Let’s look at another drug from the middle of the list, namely ENTERVET that bears the ordinal number 188. Again, from the check on the EMA page it turns out uncertified. Now let’s check the medicine VIRKON S, with serial number 335 in the list. Again, it is not EMA certified.
If this drug and the others we illustrated above were certified, then they would also be illustrated on the official website with the green light of approval. A concrete example is NOBILIS IB 4-91. The drug is ranked 4th in the official list of Albania and is approved by EMA as it appears on the official website.
We took some concrete examples but the situation is much more serious. Nearly half of the drugs registered are not EMA certified. The Policy Directorate at the Ministry of Agriculture says there are no PMVs registered in violation of the law. This reality does not seem to be seen even by the Food Safety Institute which claims that it has accepted for analysis for authorization effect only medicines with the European EMA certificate. In fact, we confirmed that hundreds of drugs have entered without the EMA certificate. This casts doubt that the analysis of the active principle is not performed and the documentation is not verified.
“When the drug enters our country for the first time, the file for active substances is deposited with the Institute of Food Safety and Veterinary. Apparently from our experience as a field veterinarian, tests for the active ingredient of the drug are not performed at ISUV. But this does not exclude the possibility that the drug is not followed in terms of documentation with its country of origin “said Ervin Resuli, Veterinarian.
