A specialist for citizenship at the Police Directorate in Tirana, has been placed under house arrest by the court, as he is charged with “theft using duty”.
In the folder investigation provided by Top Channel journalist, Anila Hoxha, 31-year-old Belina Nurja, taking advantage of the ignorance of two people from Kosovo, who applied for Albanian citizenship, took their money, abusing their position.
As it appears in the exclusive footage provided by Top Channel, the employee takes money (200 euros) from her two brothers, Mentor and Bujar Muhaerrimi during the application for an Albanian passport, contrary to the law, as they were exempted from the fee because they would took Albanian nationality from their mother’s origin. The extortion was discovered after the employee did not provide the brothers with the proof of payment.
“NFor the entirety of the investigations carried out up to this stage, evidence and facts have been administered which create the evidence-based conviction that the citizen Belina Nurja, with Specialist Duty in the Sector of Order in the Local Police Directorate of Tirana has completely consumed the elements of the figure that the criminal offense “Theft by abuse of office”, provided by Article 135 of the Criminal Code.
This citizen, taking advantage of the ignorance of naturalized foreign citizens, who are exempted from the application fees for Albanian citizenship, received monetary amounts during the application with the justification that it was the application fee and appropriated these monetary amounts illegal’it is stated among other things in the investigative file.
