Prime Minister Edi Rama chose the city of Elbasan for the welcoming dinner of President Aleksandar Vucic and the Prime Minister of Northern Macedonia Zoran Zaev. A working dinner that precedes the Open Balkan summit held in Tirana.
Under tight security, the President of Serbia had to travel directly from Rinas to Elbasan, not initially being accommodated in a hotel in Tirana as expected.
This is due to the protest organized by Sali Berisha. The last to join the dinner came Zoran Zaev. Regarding the burning of the Serbian flag in Berisha’s protest through a comment on Facebook, Prime Minister Rama says:
“The day I visited Belgrade, the capital of Serbia was full of Albanian flags and the hooligans who burned a flag were arrested by the police.”
While to the critics for the rapprochement of Albania with Serbia at the expense of Kosovo Edi Rama gave this answer.
“The truth is that in Belgrade I speak Albanian and I defend the interests of all Albanians and of course Albania; the truth is that in Belgrade I asked in Albanian for the recognition of Kosovo by Serbia, right in the Presidential Palace of Serbia “
The Open Balkans emphasizes that Edi Rama has nothing to do with Yugoslavia, that the dead are not resurrected, but only to the European Union. It is a strategic interest of Albania and the entire Albanian nation.
