Although strong security measures with increased police forces have been placed around the court of the judicial district of Fier in anticipation of the court hearing against Klodian Çalamani, the author of the macabre murder of 8-year-old Mateo Vasiu, which occurred on November 16, 2021 in Grecalli, the latter did not appear.
The security measures were taken after the incident that happened months ago when the family members of the 8-year-old were demanding justice in front of the court, while the trial is taking place in absentia.
Neither Klodian Calamani, represented by lawyer Denid Hajdëraj, nor the family members of the victim, represented by lawyer Rozeta Plaku, have appeared in court.
In the court of Fier with judge Erlanda Agaj and prosecutor Suela Beluli, it was expected to examine the request of the Fier Prosecutor’s Office with the object: “Sending for trial the criminal case in charge of the person under investigation Klodian Çalamani, accused of “Sexual or homosexual relationship with a minor with violence” and “Murder in other qualifying circumstances against minors” whose victim was 8-year-old Mateo Vasiu.
