The deadline that the Democratic Party Re-establishment Group, led by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, gave to the current chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha to vacate the blue headquarters ends today.
Berisha has threatened to go to the ‘house of democrats’, while Basha has responded by making some changes in the building, armoring the main door and preparing for any possible scenario.
It is not known what will happen today at the headquarters of the largest opposition party in the country, while Lulzim Basha stressed that the situation will continue to be normal, without unusual events.
Yesterday there was a virtual clash between the Re-establishment Commission and Basha’s DP. The Re-establishment Commission said that Basha is turning the Democratic Party into a bunker, while the leader of the Democrats said that former Prime Minister Berisha is inciting violence with his statements and acts.
The historic leader of the Democratic Party, Berisha, will lead a national protest, a few weeks after he called against the visit of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic to Tirana.
In an announcement published by Berisha, it is underlined that the seat of the Democrats is not a “hostage bunker”, referring to the leader of the Democrats Lulzim Basha, but according to him it is the house of the Democrats.
The former prime minister said a few weeks ago that January 8 would be a powerful national protest where 44,000 DP members who signed to make history would take over the Democratic Party building.
“The decision has no appeal. They will come to Tirana to the headquarters to save pluralism. “Only Edi Rama keeps it”, said Berisha.
The DP on the other hand accuses former Prime Minister Berisha of preparing an attack on the DP accompanied by incriminated persons.
“Sali Berisha can be associated with drug traffickers declared non-women in the United Kingdom, part of the criminal organization B9. He can invite them home, his family can even do real estate business with them on a clean money laundering scheme, and they can share profits from gambling businesses, but they will never have to. “they were allowed to do business with the sacrifice of the Democrats”, it is said in the reaction of the Democratic Party.
The split within the largest Albanian opposition party came after the departure of historical leader Sali Berisha from the PD parliamentary group, on the grounds that he had been declared non grata by the US.
