For 5 nights, the “Gjon Mili, Jazz&Blues” festival kept the fans of this trend in Tirana and Korça engrossed.
Under the moderation of Stenaldo Mëhilli and Elona Islamaj, on July 12, 13, 14, the festival took place at Reja in Tirana, as well as at the Korça pedestrian street on July 15-16. There were many who enjoyed the magic of Jazz & Blues music by Albanian and foreign artists such as the Finnish group “Pylkkanen Nu Botega”, the group “Kejdi Barbullushi Trio”, the group “Just Trio”, the Austrian group “TechRider – Julie Island guitar-trio” , the group “Ermal Rodi Quartet”, the group “Philippos Nakas Big Band Thessaloniki” and the group “Ivanov Quartet”.
“Gjon Mili Jazz&Blues Festival” aims to promote the figure of Gjon Mili, as the only connecting bridge that the Albanian nation has with the world history of Jazz and Blues music, making it part of the Cultural and Artistic Heritage of Albania. The birth of this festival was motivated by the realization of the “Dream of John Mili” project in 2019, supported by the Ministry of Culture.
This activity was organized within the Title, “Tirana European Capital of Youth” for 2022, implemented by the National Youth Congress in cooperation with the organization RIAS, Music for Young People and with the support of the Municipality of Tirana, and a representation of national and international institutions in place.
