In order to prevent road accidents, eliminate obstacles that create flow in the movement of vehicles, as well as follow the complaints of citizens through 112 of the Digital Commissariat, for violators of traffic rules, the Regional Commissariat of Traffic Police, has organized group work dedicated to identifying and punishing aggressive violators of the Road Code, who are a potential danger to the lives of road users.
In this context, during this week, 185 drivers were identified, followed, apprehended and prosecuted who performed speed races, dangerous maneuvers on the road and speeds beyond the allowed norms.
124 drivers of luxury vehicles were punished with administrative measures for parking on the sidewalk, on white lines and parallel parking, which hindered the movement.
Also, from the dedicated control groups, 503 drivers were identified and punished for using a mobile phone while driving, 361 drivers for not using a seat belt, 122 drivers for not wearing a seatbelt, 290 drivers for erroneous overtaking, 41 for driving under the influence of alcohol and 3789 other measures for various violations.
At the same time, 23 drivers were arrested, out of which 15 for drunk driving, 4 for driving without a driving license and 3 for violating traffic rules, causing an accident and a citizen for forging a driving license.
129 driving licenses have been suspended, divided according to violations:
• 40 cases of driving under the influence of alcohol;
• 70 cases for speeding;
• 19 cases for other violations of the Road Code.
16 vehicles were blocked, of which:
• 6 means for non-liquidation of fines;
• 10 vehicles with foreign license plates and luxury vehicles, which were escorted to the premises of the Regional Commissariat of Traffic Police Tirana, for verification by the Section for Investigation of Illegal Trafficking in the Local Police Directorate of Tirana.
Tirana Traffic Police thanks the citizens for the trust and denunciation of cases of violation of traffic rules and appeals to all road users to strictly follow the traffic rules, as all roads are monitored with radars, cameras, control groups and patrols. on the move, which are equipped with all the necessary logistics.
