An amateur video shows the moment when Koyrtidhou Street in the Kato Patisia neighborhood in the center of Athens around 9:30 on Saturday evening, becomes the scene of an armed and bloody confrontation with the protagonists being members of the Albanian gangs of the world of crime.
It is just the beginning of a tragic incident that ends with the death of three people, all three Albanians, and the wounding of 3 others.
According to the Greek police, it is about a settlement of accounts between two opposing criminal groups, and the meeting left to clarify the drug deals continued with the use of bullets.
From a Mercedes car, which was driven by a woman, a person shot from the window the opponent of another group on motorcycles, who had arrived at the scene accompanied by other people in two cars from behind. From the exchange of fire, two people were injured out of seven that happened at the scene. Then the author gets back into the Mercedes and leaves in a hurry, running over the person he had shot and his friend, who died in the hospital.
“I was sitting on the balcony of the house, suddenly I heard crackling, I said something is happening and I came down from the house… I came face to face with the killer, he was holding a 45 caliber pistol in his hand. He went out on the central boulevard and stopped a black car with the threat of a gun. took the car and left,” said an eyewitness.
He goes first to a gas station and then to a bar where he asks and takes some money. As soon as he leaves there, he collides with a police patrol of the Rapid Intervention in the Agioi Anargyrou neighborhood and from the exchange of fire he falls dead, while two of the policemen are wounded who were later taken to the hospital.
“We visited the two brave policemen who were injured and who yesterday evening did their duty with sacrifice saving people’s lives. They are very well and have been operated on. The Greek police act effectively against organized crime” – said the Minister of Citizen Protection Takis Theodhorikakos
More than 15 shell casings were found near the bar, some of which were in its walls and in the surrounding cisterns. The police have arrested the woman who was driving the Mercedes type vehicle and a pistol was also found in her possession. While the photo and the name of the first Albanian who opened fire, at the time he lost his life, as well as the names of the other two, have been circulated, investigations are still ongoing by the relevant bodies to clarify the entire activity of the two Albanian criminal groups, some members of who, as it is said, had just been released from prison.
