They were transporting 7 illegal immigrants, 1 citizen was handcuffed and another 1 was declared wanted, who did not obey the order of the Police to stop.
The structures for the Investigation of Crimes in DVP Korça, in cooperation with the Border Police and the services of FRONTEX, following the operation codenamed “Perimeter”, have hit another case of criminal activity of providing assistance to foreign citizens, for illegal crossing of the border, against profit, as a result of which the citizen AS, 24 years old, was caught and arrested in flagrante delicto and the citizen MM, 24 years old, resident in Pogradec, was declared wanted.
The Border Police Services, in cooperation with those of FRONTEX, have ascertained near the village of Trestenik, Devoll, the vehicle type “Audi A6”, with which there were suspicions that illegal immigrants were being transported and have signaled to the driver of his, citizens MM, to stop. This citizen did not obey the order of the Police services to stop, but quickly left and abandoned the vehicle on the road, inside which 7 illegal immigrants were found.
From the investigative actions performed, it resulted that the collaborator with the citizen MM, in this criminal activity was also the citizen AS, who was arrested in flagrante delicto. The Police is working to apprehend the citizen MM and bring him to justice.
The materials were handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Korça Judicial District, for the criminal offenses “Assistance in illegal border crossing” committed in cooperation and “Disobedience to the order of a public order police officer”.
