The services of the Devoll Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the structures for the Investigation of Crimes in DVP Korça, the Border Police and the Operational Forces “Shqiponjat” in the Local Police Directorate of Tirana, following the operation codenamed “Perimeter”, have hit another case of the criminal activity of providing assistance to foreign citizens, for illegal crossing of the border, against profit, as a result of which the citizens M. Gj., 28 years old, resident in Tirana, were caught and arrested in flagrante delicto; KP, 23 years old, resident in Kamza, Tirana; BL, 28 years old, resident in Tirana, as well as the wanted citizen AM, 22 years old, resident in Kamza, Tirana.

The police forces of the Devoll Commissariat, based on the information provided by the police that with a vehicle type “Volkswagen Crafter”, some citizens were transporting illegal immigrants in the direction of Tirana, organized services and made it possible to locate the vehicle near the village of Poloska, Devoll.

During the pursuit, the driver of this vehicle was signaled to stop, but he did not obey the order of the police officers and abandoned the vehicle, inside which were found 27 illegal immigrants, who in exchange for a reward of 1000 euros each, they were promised passage to EU countries.

From the investigative actions performed, it results that the two citizens M. Gj. and KP, (arrested) were in the role of organizers of this criminal activity, while citizens BL (arrested) and AM (declared wanted) were in the role of transporters of foreign nationals.

The materials were passed to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Korça Judicial District for the criminal offenses “Assistance in illegal border crossing” committed in collaboration and “Disobedience to the order of a public order police officer”.
