Rescue crews have successfully relocated 28 whales that had been stranded on a New Zealand beach.
The BBC considers this beach “infamous for whales” because it is not the first time they get stuck there. The long-feathered pilot whales were part of a group of about 50 that were first spotted Monday at Farewell Spit. At least 15 have died.
However, the surviving whales, which were rescued twice, have stayed close to shore and could get stuck again, wildlife officials said.
