Authorities suspect murder after the suspicious disappearance in the Pacific Ocean water of a young girl, who fell from the fifth floor of a tourist cruise.
The Carnival cruise line was sailing from Long Beach, Florida, USA, to Mexico.
The young woman who is believed to be in her 20s is presumed dead after falling from the balcony of the cruise ship.
Officials say the girl, still unidentified publicly, was declared missing from the vehicle on Sunday around 03.00am.
The Mexican Navy and Coast Guard halted their efforts after about 30 hours of searching.
A doctor on board the vehicle said he suspected external factors for the incident after broken pieces of upholstery were found on the balcony from where the victim fell.
The crew alerted the passengers and searched the waters near the ship but without success.
The Carnival Miracle Cruise has 12 decks and a capacity of 2,100 passengers, but only 1,100 people were on board on the voyage.
“Around 3 o’clock in the morning, the alarm of the sound center ‘Man at sea! A man at sea! ‘”, The passenger named Miranda told the media.
Speaking of networking ABC 7, she added: “Someone has lost their life, whether accidentally or not, but there are doubts about other factors. “
The FBI was involved in the investigation when the ship returned to Long Beach.
“The crew made every effort to help him by going down with their boats to look for him in the water,” Miranda added.
