A 33-meter tourist yacht with three people on board issued the SOS signal yesterday evening at around 20:20 for a rescue operation in the Adriatic Sea.
The captaincy of the port of Durrës has received a call from the vessel with the Croatian flag “D’artista 07”, which was located about 20 miles from Divjaka.
Those on board called for help as the yacht was experiencing engine problems and was in danger of sinking.
The General Maritime Directorate in Durrës informs that after receiving the notification, they have started the operation to rescue the tourists who were in danger.
The captaincy informed the ships that were sailing closer to the yacht to give him quick help, while the captain of the container ship “The Spirit of Chennai”, traveling from Italy to the port of Durrës, answered the call.
After the help provided by the ship with the Portuguese flag, the rescue of three people was achieved, as well as the yacht.
