The Basic Court of Mitrovica is holding the hearing for determining the measure of detention for the former deputy mayor of Skënderaj municipality, Nuredin Lushtak and his two brothers, Fatoni and Arif, for attacking two police officers.
According to the prosecution, the whole attack was triggered by a traffic fine that police officer Enver Berisha imposed on Nuredin Lushtak’s son, Arbër, for not wearing a seat belt.
After that, Nuredin Lushtaku and his brothers went to settle accounts with the policeman Enver Berisha, who to avoid the attack had shot twice in the air.
The prosecution claims that after that the three Lushtaku brothers hit policeman Berisha with the butt of the gun with the weapons they had in their possession.
Until, according to the investigation, the police official was stunned by the blows and then another shot was heard, after which it was established that the other policeman Mergim Geci was injured, but it is still not known by whom and whose weapon.
Likewise, the prosecution claims that Nuredin Lushtaku had taken the policeman’s weapon, Enver Berisha, which he had sent to Bekim Jashari, former mayor of the Municipality of Skenderaj, who had then handed it over to the police.
It was also concluded from the hearing that the police officer Enver Berisha had problems with the Lushtaku brothers before.
Nuredin Lushtaku and Arif and Faton Lushtaku are suspected of the criminal offense of assault on a police officer, possession of a firearm and use of a dangerous vehicle or weapon.
