In the framework of the Great Ring projects, the works for the construction of the Northern Ring have started. Minister Belinda Balluku was on the ground to see closely how the work is going, emphasizing that the part of expropriations continues to be a problem because there are illegal apartments.
Among other things, Balluku said that the time of submission of the work is 11 months and added that greenery and lighting is included as it will be a residential area.
Balluku: With the Northern Ring we close 40% of the big ring of Tirana. One of the complexities we have is the part of expropriations and the movement of houses, most of which are built illegally, but as in all other cases, we will take measures to accommodate families who have illegal apartments. .
While the Municipality of Tirana has made some interventions rightly and we have turned these roads into urban areas where there is sidewalks and lighting while secondary roads are important to accommodate the demands of residential areas. Tirana today is very developed and we definitely need to accommodate not only the demands of today but also of the future.
We are dealing with well-studied projects with in-depth analysis to have as few surprises as possible during the works. I was looking at the memo that I had in my hands that the time of submission of the work is 11 months. I would say it is really a very ambitious deadline that I hope to keep in mind given the expropriations. The procedure that the state does is bilateral. We do not do them alone, we always do them with the owner of the land being expropriated and the delays that are created, create delays and in the process. Since we started the work before the construction sites opened, I hope that together we will meet the deadlines. If delivered within a year, Tirana will breathe easily and the national axes will be connected to this completed ring giving the city breath.
We will no longer have those 3-4 points but the big ring to disperse that every driver needs to go.
