Body language experts say that depending on walking speed, posture and stride length, there are several walking styles and that the way we walk can show how our personality is.
“There are some ‘core’ walking styles in which we can classify all people, and most actually use a combination of the two categories, with one still prevailing,” body language expert Patti Wood told Bright Side, which added different personalities.
steering
If your body weight ‘falls’ forward and your pace is fast, you are at the helm. This guy often does something else while walking, e.g. button on cell phone, think of different problems or create some sort of list in your head. “If there is an obstacle in your way, you will find the most direct path through or around it,” Wood said. In addition, you know how to execute a plan, you are very productive, logical and most likely very intelligent. However, Wood advises you to slow down and feel the world around you at least occasionally.
glamor
If you walk with your chest straight and your shoulders, back and head held high, you are certainly a “fascinator”. Like the “steering wheel”, walk fast, but have an “elastic”, optimistic step. They smile casually, make eye contact or greet aloud, and according to Wood, many politicians and celebrities have a “fascinating” style of walking. They are fun, charismatic and socially capable, and their personality draws attention. However, Wood advises them to lower their enthusiasm and think before they act. “Think about it, is it a good time to stand out or is it an opportunity to stand aside and leave the opportunity to others?” she said.
aid
If your weight is spread on your legs and not forward or backward, this is a sign that you are a “helper”. You walk at a moderate pace, and your movements are ‘soft’ – and you brag subtly. You tend to make gestures while walking, though you prefer eye contact. You are more interested in people than in tasks and you like private life and your career is not important to you. You feel great fun when you are part of a group, you like to hang out with family and participate in group activities. “Try to stay focused when you are close to someone you are trying to impress,” advises Wood.
cowardly
If you walk quietly and with your toes ‘eyes’ glued to the floor, you are probably a “coward”. Your pace is slow and cautious, as if you are afraid to take the wrong step. Your hands are held close to your body, as if you do not want to interfere with someone else’s personal space. Do not use your mobile phone while walking or interacting with friends – except when appropriate. Most likely you are introverted, but polite. Treat others the way you would like to be treated. However, given your nature, you do not say much, but expect people to already know everything. This can lead to complications with others that will confuse your nervous behavior. “Do your best to communicate as verbally as possible and try to find the most beautiful way to express yourself and you will be amazed at how much easier life will be for you,” said Wood.
