The Albanian government has requested the postponement of the organization of this important event for the Iranian opposition, a request that has been accepted by the leaders of the national council of Iranian resistance.
“The Free Iran World Summit scheduled to be held on July 23rd and 24th in Ashraf 3, Albania, is postponed until further notice at the recommendation of the Albanian government and due to terrorist threats and conspiracies of the mullahs’ regime” , it is stated in the announcement of the Secretariat of the National Council of Resistance of Iran.
Late Thursday evening, the American embassy in Tirana issued a security notice calling on its citizens to avoid this event, monitor local media, keep a low profile and be aware of their surroundings, due to threats that have arrived in connection with the development of the World Summit for a Free Iran in Manez of Durrës.
The summit was to be held at the Iranian Mujahideen camp, Ashraf 3, on July 23-24. The camp has been set up on a considerable area in Manez of Durrës and 3 thousand mujahedin living in Albania since 2013 and onwards.
The Mujahideen are considered a terrorist group by the Islamic Republic of Iran and have been in open conflict with the government in Iran for decades.
