Former US President Barack Obama said the threat from Vladimir Putin has always existed, but that the “reckless” way of the Russian President with the invasion of Ukraine would not have been foreseen a decade ago.

Asked what he would have done differently during his tenure, including when Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, Obama declined to answer directly.
