The Democratic Party has drafted a detailed report after the January 8 protest called by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, which he sent to foreign embassies in our country and the European Commission.
The 8-page report describes in detail, hour after hour, everything that happened in front of and in the PD building during the violent hours of the protest.
Attached to the report are photos showing militants with hinges and hammers in their hands.
The main person responsible and guide for the violence, the DP makes Sali Berisha responsible.
The report states that just one hour before the official start of the protest called by Berisha, some of his supporters physically and verbally attacked the PD secretary for Local Development, Roland Bejko, in the presence of the media and cameras.
“The deputy chairman of the Democratic Party, MP Enkelejd Alibeaj, was placed under the protection of the National Guard, after he was attacked and threatened with life by people gathered in the protest called by Berisha”, the report states.
There is also talk of an investigation by the State Police and the Prosecution into the blue headquarters.
“After the closing of the press conference by Basha and when the DP representatives started to leave the party headquarters, the police officers again initiated their detention and escort to the police stations.”.
Also, the report states that “among the persons detained by the police were not only representatives of the Democratic Party, MPs, but also the media and journalists. The immediate reaction came from the Secretary General, Bardhi, who condemned this move of the police and asked for explanations why the representatives of the Democratic Party were interrogated for the second time, while they had testified once “.
The report does not lack the reactions of internationals, who condemned the violence in the protest, as well as its coverage in the international media.
The leadership of the Democratic Party has reacted with an iron fist to the events of January 8, when its headquarters was attacked by supporters of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, violently destroying part of its premises. In yesterday’s meeting that lasted until the early hours of the morning, the Presidency decided that the former chairman of the Democratic Party, the man who was among its founders and who led this political force until 2013, Sali Berisha, will not be no longer a member of the PD.
Punitive measures have been taken against the 28 members of the PD Re-establishment Commission, a structure set up by the Assembly convened on December 11 by Berisha, to lead the party until the new elections, but which is not recognized by the chairman Lulzim Basha and its institutions. party.
In addition to Berisha, the immediate expulsion from the DP affects 8 other names, including former President Bujar Nishani or three MPs Flamur Noka, Edmond Spaho and Albana Vokshi.
As for 19 others, immediate suspension from membership as well as from other functions in the party has been decided. In total, there are at least 10 deputies, who are no longer considered representatives of this political force.
In fact, the decision does not seem to be a surprise, if we take into account the fact that on the evening of January 8, the chairman of this party Lulzim Basha stated that what had happened had marked “the final separation with former Prime Minister Berisha.”
Some of the expelled or suspended deputies have reacted on social networks by talking about an invalid decision, estimating that according to them Lulzim Basha and the current institutions of this party are not functional, as they were overthrown by the Assembly held by them on December 11. .
