The Court of Tirana on Friday registered the statutory changes during the National Assembly convened by the chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, on July 17, 2021.
This move came a few days after the former leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha on Saturday, December 11 held the National Assembly with about 5 thousand delegates and thousands of supporters to dismiss the current leader, Lulzim Basha.
But today’s decision of the Court of Tirana is decisive and determines that the changes approved by the Assembly convened by Lulzim Basha; will remain in force.
The Secretary of Legal Affairs in the Democratic Party, Indrit Sefa told the media that Lulzim Basha is the official chairman of the Democratic Party.
Statutory changes
The July 17 assembly brought 11 changes including expanding the presidency with other members and increasing the number of secretaries.
Basha also established the District Coordination Council for electoral organizations.
The changes of the Basha Assembly were mainly related to the expansion of the Presidency, the Secretariat and the addition of the permanent structure of the Regional Coordination Council, which will have responsibilities in the electoral organization and actions and political activities of the party at the regional level.
The expansion of the Presidency also includes the Chairman of the National Council, the Chairman of the Financial Board, the Chairman of the Election Commission and the Chairman of the Appeals, Integrity and Ethics Commission.
Also, the Re-establishment Commission of the Democratic Party sent to the Court of Tirana, on December 15, for registration the statutory changes voted in the Assembly of December 11, convened by the former chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha.
