Most of us are happy to hear compliments – we rejoice when someone gives us a nice word and praise.
A study found that men are much happier with compliments than women! (YouGov survey of 2,000 British respondents).
Research has not only revealed that men are more prone to compliments, but also that both sexes occasionally refuse compliments, reports KP.
52 percent of women, but also 37 percent of men, sometimes do not accept compliments. This happens when a compliment causes an uncomfortable feeling or when someone does not want to be the center of attention.
A compliment is also rejected if it is thought to be dishonest.
The aim of the survey was also to conclude what should be said that the interlocutor feels good.
For men, these were three sentences that made a smile on their faces:
1. “You look very intelligent.”
2. “You look happy.”
3. “You look good for your age.”
