The talented Uruguayan footballer, owned by Sassuolo Nicola Schiappacasse, is sentenced to 14 months in prison, converted into house arrest, for possession of ammunition and firearms, while in addition, he will have to serve in the community.
The decision was given by a local court, which allowed the 23-year-old to go out only to conduct training sessions with the Tanque Sisley club, where he is also on loan from the Sassuolo Italians.
The footballer was found with a 9 mm caliber firearm, at a checkpoint in the city of Maldonado and for this he was immediately arrested, as he has served a good part of his sentence in the detention facilities.
Born in 1999, Nicola Schiappacasse was arguably one of the most talented youngsters, scoring 30 goals in 70 games with Uruguay ages, from U17 to U20.
That was enough for the footballer to be transferred at a young age to Atletico Madrid, where he stayed in the period 2016-2020, but mostly on loan, including that of Parma, the club with which he debuted in the Italian Serie A.
In the summer of 2020 Schiappacasse was bought by Sassuolo, who first loaned him to Penarol and then to Tanque Sisley, however the footballer has a contract until the summer of 2023 with the Emilian club.
