Teral Christesson was found drinking beer and eating shrimp in a New Mexico home, after he later told police he had repented and left money to repair the damage.
The armed robber had enjoyed several hours in the luxury apartment where he had eaten, drank and taken a bath, before apologizing to the police and to his master for entering with a break.
The accused reportedly had left $ 200 to repair the window he had broken and told the homeowners he just needed a warm place to sleep.
Santa Fe police had come to the crime scene where they had found Teral Christesson drinking beer and eating shrimp.
According to reports, a man had entered his home where he found the 34-year-old robber who had an automatic rifle with him, according to court documents in Santa Fe.
The suspect then apologized to the homeowner, justifying that he needed a place to sleep, so he then left $ 200 in a chair before stuffing his automatic in his bag and leaving quietly.
Christesson said he had entered the house through a broken window.
The owner of the house also said that “the man was very ashamed and apologized when he was in this situation”.
Christesson further said that his car had broken down and was found in bad weather on Sunday so he had entered the house with fractures for fear of getting up while denying further allegations of car hostage.
The man has been charged with entering the house by force, criminal property damage and attempted mortgage of the vehicle.
