Faiq Bolkiah is believed to be the richest footballer in the world, but he is nonetheless looking for a new squad.
He has played with Arsenal’s Chelsea academy in London but does not seem to have found the success that suits his fortune.
Faiq Bolkiah became famous when he started training with the Southampton academy and then signed his first professional contract with the English club Leicester.
He is the grandson of the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, whose fortune is estimated at 18 billion euros.
After closing his contract last year without any appearances on the field with Leicester, Faiq settled with the Portuguese team of Maritimo.
But recently even this adventure of his to crack in the world of professional football took a hit with the closing of the contract with the Portuguese team that is currently ranked 15th.
The club did not give specific reasons for the departure of the 23-year-old born in Los Angeles, who failed to make any appearances for the team.
But in other respects Bolkiah’s social life continues to shine, as he previously posted on social media photos where he met Queen Elizabeth, and her circle.
His father Jeffrey is the brother of oil tycoon Hassanal, a member of the Brunei royal family and heir to the sultan’s throne.
Jeffrey is believed to have once owned 2,300 vehicles, including fleets with Bentley, Ferrari and Rolls-Royce.
When Faiq turned seven, his father reportedly flew Michael Jackson to a private concert, for which he paid the late singer $ 12.5 million.
But his former colleagues said he was an ordinary boy in the locker rooms.
His friend Ruben Sammut told The Athletic: “You could never believe he was somewhere 12th in line for the throne. I played against him when I was on the Reading team. “We did not know who he was and even those at Chelsea did not initially know his origins.”
