A recently declassified document in Britain, according to local media shows that in case of a nuclear attack on the country, the queen and the royal family would be placed in a secret bunker or on a super-yacht that would keep them out of danger.
Secret plans show that in the event of a nuclear collision, although no one would escape unscathed, the British queen and royal family would have all the necessary care inside a “safe environment.”
The developments come at a time of tension between Britain and Russia following the launch of Moscow’s attack on Ukraine on 24 February.
Shortly before the attack began, Putin warned the West that if it intervened in the Russian incursion, it would face “unprecedented consequences in history,” adding to speculation that it was referring to the use of nuclear weapons.
In Britain, the royal castle Windsor served as a bunker during the Cold War for the royal family.
Beneath the official rooms of the castle, a deep cellar was converted into a nuclear bunker when fears of the Cold War began to spread after the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962.
A bomb pressure sensor has been installed in the castle gardens, with which scientists monitor the blast wave or how far the devastation has spread.
Although the full rules of nuclear rescue for royalty are not known, the document sheds some light on the procedures of the situation.
The document, titled ‘Operation Candid’, states that the queen and relatives should be distributed in country houses away from London, but not well-known royal residences.
If there was enough time they would move to the Royal Yacht Britannia.
The plan also includes hiding kings in the Scottish Highlands, more or less in the style of the Scottish legend of the Loch Ness monster.
In the event of the deaths of deputies in the war, the queen would be able to appoint a new prime minister, according to her powers as monarch.
Two government ministers and a senior member of the royal family would stay with him to set up the High Council to make appointments.
This is the version of the plan according to the document of 60 years ago and it is not known if its status has been updated according to modern conditions.
The royal yacht was actually stripped of its powers in 1997, so another naval vessel had to be used, possibly a submarine, according to British media.
Even the death of the queen’s husband last year has left another family member with him all the time in emergency evacuations.
