The Technical Committee of Experts has decided that the restrictive measures for the end-of-year holidays remain in force, while they announced that the Omicron variant has arrived in our country after the first two cases have been recorded.
Speaking about the current situation, Mira Rakacolli said that the level of measures in force is appropriate to control this situation. Except on New Year’s Eve, when people will want to celebrate with their families, curfew will remain 23:00 – 06:00.
“The same measures that we have in force will remain. But Omicron’s presence in the world makes it necessary to respect the measures that are not being respected at the required level. The unvaccinated are becoming more infected. This becomes sensitive in terms of the Omicron variant in Albania. Omicroni will find all the unvaccinated. Vaccination is not a personal matter.
We are on the eve of the end of the year holidays. This year, about 50% of the population over the age of 60 is vaccinated with at least one vaccine, so be responsible to meet standards and use masks in all recommended settings. The curfew will be the same, 23:00, except on New Year’s Eve. “The curfew is about people who want to spend the new year together, not the organization.” tha Rakacolli.
Among other things, he stressed that on January 4, all employees of public administration, supermarkets and shopping malls will present vaccination certificates or evidence of cure.
While the epidemiologist Eugena Tomini confirmed that two people infected with coronavirus in our country are carriers of the variant “Omicron”.
