Meteorologists report that in the coming days temperatures in Albania may drop to -18 degrees Celsius in areas such as Bulqiza or Puka.
While the thermometer in Tirana is expected to drop to -8 degrees Celsius, close to zero in coastal areas such as Durres, while in Vlora temperatures are expected to -1 degrees Celsius. The peak of low temperatures is expected to be on Monday.
The Ministry of Defense calls on citizens, especially those in remote areas, to follow the advice of emergency headquarters in their municipalities to avoid serious situations.
Recall that the Minister of Education, Evis Kushi announced today that starting from Monday to Wednesday the schools in the country will be closed as the weather is forecast to reach extreme cold temperatures.
According to the meteorological forecasts, in the following days very low temperatures are expected, which are extraordinary temperatures for a country like ours. It will even reach -17 degrees Celsius in some areas, the minister said in a statement.
The Minister adds that from Monday to Wednesday, the lost hours will be replaced in the following after a second announcement in cooperation with the local education offices.
