The Association of Petroleum Products of Kosovo has opposed the draft decision of the Government of Kosovo to set a new profit margin for sellers of oil and its derivatives. They are seeking to reduce oil excise and reduce VAT.
Among other things, if this proposal is not taken into account, they have asked to set profit margins as they have proposed, for 3% wholesalers and 12% retailers.
On the contrary, as they said, they will seek compensation for the losses caused from March 1, when the Government set profit margins or even the closure of all fuel points throughout the territory of Kosovo.
From today’s meeting of the Petroleum Association, the decision was made to send their requests to the Government of Kosovo.
The Ministry of Entrepreneurship, Industry and Trade is expected to make a decision that will lower the price of oil. From this it is announced that the profit of retailers will be up to 10 cents and of wholesalers 2 or 3 cents.
On March 1, this ministry had issued a decision on the profit margin of retailers of 6% and those of wholesalers 4%.
In Kosovo, oil is currently sold for 1.82 cents, which MINT says is necessary for this decision.
