Syrians have made about 117.00 applications while Afghans 102,000, forwarded by citizens of Iraq, Pakistan, Turkey and Bangladesh.
Their key destinations are: France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
Half of all applicants were in the 18-34 age group, and about 70 percent of them were men.
The EU has said it has accepted asylum or protection applications from 185,000 people.
Residents of Eritrea had the highest acceptance rate – 81 percent – while residents of Georgia had the lowest – three percent.
