The National Council of the Democratic Party elected 20 members of the new Presidency of this political force.
Arben Imami, although he had the blessing of Sali Berisha, did not manage to gain the trust of the Democrats to be part of this high governing body.
It was different with Jozefina Topalli, who after Luzim Basha expelled her from the party by personal decision, Sali Berisha returned her to the party in the same way.
There was also a place in the re-established presidency for Ina Zhupa who finally parted ways by officially separating from Alibeaj’s group.
Among the winners are 13 members of the Re-establishment Commission which no longer exists. There is a return for the former organizational secretary Ervin Minarroli, while the former deputies Gent Strazimiri, Arben Ristani and Keltis Kruja stood out.

Fatbardha Kadiu with 141 votes

The novelty of this electoral process was the electronic counting of each ballot paper, which occurs for the first time in Albanian political parties.
Each vote passed in real time on the summary board from where the winning names of the new members of the Democratic Party Presidency were learned. The whole process was transparent to the public and the media.
