ICELAND – The Icelandic authorities have announced that they are very close to solving the murder of the Albanian Armando Beqiri.
MEDIA locals suggest that police and investigators have seized some footage of Beqir’s execution and may have a clear picture of what happened last Saturday.
There are more than 20 investigators dealing with this issue and the crime could be uncovered quickly. More than 10 people are in custody in connection with this murder, but the deadline for keeping them in the cell expires today. It is learned that an Albanian handcuffed is the main suspect in the murder of 33-year-old Armando Beqiri as he entered his apartment. According to Fréttablaðið sources, the unidentified Albanian was found with fingerprints on a firearm that was located in his apartment.
“We have seized various items during the investigation of the case and we think we know with which weapon they shot at Beqir,” said Margeir Sveinsson, the police chief who is leading the investigation into the Rauðagerði murder.
The same sources for the local media suggest that the Police have seized firearms and several vehicles that are suspected to have been used for the event, including the Range Rover car owned by the Icelander, Anton Kristinn.
Police will ask the court to keep the detainees in jail until the end of the investigation. All the suspects have been questioned, but police are still seeking information to fully blame them.
