Prime Minister Edi Rama in a live communication from Facebook, spoke about the reconstruction process after the November 26 earthquake.
Rama said that this process has not stopped but as it is known, the pandemic delayed the process.
Rama: It is not yet 8 years because we entered office in the second half of September 2013. This has been the most extraordinary mandate of an Albanian government as it has been broken in half by the earthquake and pandemic, overturning our priorities and turning our attention to two directions, which has put us in front of two extraordinary challenges. Two blows that would have knocked down an elephant and no longer an Albanian government with the limited powers and means at its disposal.
When I answered that we would take the money out of the ground, for the misfortune that befell us it was a word from the heart, but a word that I thought I could support with arguments. A word spoken of ambition, passion and the burden of ruin.
I begged wherever I could, from the west down to the Middle East, and you know how the story went. it was a record support that gave us breath.
What I am relieved to see in the eyes of those affected by the disaster is that no day was left in the open, even today when no one is home, it is in conditions like all the others who have at home . There are about 500 families staying in tents for reasons related to land and livelihood but receiving rent bonus.
