Footage from the incident that took place at midnight on Tuesday in Thessaloniki, where a 19-year-old was killed have been published today.
Arrested is the owner of one of the two cars with hooligans who took part in the brutal attack where 19-year-old Alki lost his life and two of his friends were injured.
The suspected perpetrator is of Albanian nationality and his name is Afksendos Çarçiu, according to Greek media. The 23-year-old has been previously convicted of violent assault and is known as an extremely aggressive person in the circle of hooligans of Greek sports teams.
He was sent to the competent judicial bodies, while the police investigation continues, after blood stains were found in the vehicle of the 23-year-old accused of the brutal murder and the samples were sent for analysis to forensic laboratories.
Meanwhile, the police authorities are examining the possibility that the person is suspected of not having managed to erase the traces that betrayed him.
How did the event happen?
According to the police, several people came out of two vehicles and asked three 19-year-olds with which football team they are fans.
They then attacked him with strong tools until one of the young men received a deep stab wound in the leg and lost his life from the bleeding only a few minutes later, while his two friends were wounded in the head and chest. Terrified neighborhood residents watched most of the scenes of violence until ambulances arrived to pick up the injured.
“I heard screams, swearing and a loud bang. “Then I saw that they took a bench from a shop there and shot a white car.”said a witness.
The Minister of Civil Defense has stated that no kind of violence is acceptable and that the police who have so far accompanied 15 suspicious persons in connection with the event will do their duty to find out the perpetrators of this crime.
The murder of the 19-year-old, which is attributed to the motives of violence of fanatical fans, especially of the teams of Aris and Paok, is considered the culmination of a series of brutal acts of this nature in the last 5 years with arson in the premises of fans, beatings and violent clashes, gunshots in various neighborhoods of the city and at least two dead, mostly in Thessaloniki. Meanwhile, violent confrontations between AEK and Olympiakos fans were registered in Athens this weekend.
