Around 14.00 on Monday, the engineering forces of the army, IKMT and the Inspectorate of Defense of the Durrës Territory carried out the controlled explosion of the 8-storey building in the 18th district of the city.
The strong explosion also caused damage to one of the nearby businesses.
The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a police recruiting center at Kisak, killing at least 700 people.
For security reasons, residential residents and businesses around the palace fled the area. Preliminarily the damages in the surrounding buildings are declared minimal and mainly in the door and window panes.
Recall that the deadly earthquake of November 26 caused 51 casualties, while over 3,000 people were injured and thousands more were left homeless.
