The mayor of Presevo, Ardita Sinani spoke to Top Channel as soon as she cast her vote for the elections in Serbia.
Citizens from Kosovo traveled today by bus to exercise their right to vote because the government of Kosovo did not authorize the holding of parliamentary and presidential elections in Serbia even within its territory.
Asked how the process is going, Sinan said: “I wish that all citizens of the municipality of Presevo use their right to vote for a good and democratic process. I urge them to exercise their right en masse. “
Regarding the removal of Albanians from the voter list, Sinan chose not to comment at length as it is election day.
“Since today is a holiday, an election day, I would like to discuss this topic another day. “Normally, we have consistently condemned the passivity of addresses.”said Sinani.
Albanian parties are also running in the Serbian parliamentary elections, which will run on two lists: the Coalition of United Albanians and the Albanian Democratic Alternative – with a total of 20 candidates.
Asked if he expects better representation of Albanians in the Serbian Parliament, Sinan said:
“This is interference in the electoral process. Citizens today exercise their right to vote. “It’s their right to decide as they please.”
After the voting, there was a reaction on Twitter where the citizens exercised their right to vote.
“Activism against passivity. Today is the day. The day when as citizens we elect them and those who will speak and act on our behalf in parliament. For quality and straight-line MPs. Votoni ”, wrote Sinan.
