The Eurovision Song Contest will be held in the United Kingdom next year.
The organizers of the festival have decided that it will not be held in the winning country, Ukraine, due to the ongoing Russian occupation.
The United Kingdom came in second place in this year’s Eurovision, so the organizer of the festival started talks about holding the new festival in this country.
It is not yet known in which city Eurovision will be held, but Glasgow and Manchester have expressed interest. The UK has a number of venues adequate to host Eurovision in 2023, but also has accommodation facilities and good international transport links.
Other cities may also be in the running to host Eurovision, including Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle, Birmingham, Aberdeen, London, Brighton, Belfast and Cardiff.
Cities that want to host the festival must prove that they have the right infrastructure to host Eurovision.
