The Government of North Macedonia, in today’s 59th session, reviewed the information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, regarding the proposal-negotiation framework for the Republic of North Macedonia with the EU, presented by the French Presidency of the European Union.
In the session, the government decided to forward the proposal to the Assembly for consideration and approval of the conclusions, according to the procedures of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia.
The Albanian parties and the majority support the French proposal, while the VMRO-DPMNE opponents demand the change of the text to guarantee the preservation of the Macedonian identity, including the language and history, while accusing the government of becoming part of a compromise harmful to the country.
