On the fourth day of the fire in Chika mountain, a hearth continues to be active.
Despite the fact that yesterday two Canadian planes dropped water to extinguish the flames, they continue to be active in some areas.
Planes have flown over the mountain of Chika four times until yesterday evening, but the fire over the village of Palas has not been extinguished yet.
According to the civil emergency headquarters near the prefecture of Vlora, the planes will continue their work today to put out the flames.
Soldiers of the Armed Forces have been evacuated from the site, as the impact of the water thrown from above causes the rock heated by the fire’s temperatures to create cracks (explosions), causing danger to them.
Meanwhile, in the southern part of the mountain of Chika, about 80 hectares of forest with firs and bushes were burned in a line 500 meters from the area above the village of Palase near the top of the mountain.
