A father has married his daughter to one of the relatives in the ceremony as the groom was not showing up at the wedding venue in the Indian region of Maharashtra.
So in a sudden turn of events, the father decided that the ceremony “should not go to waste” as the groom was reported to be drunk and did not come to the wedding venue until after four hours.
The wedding was to take place on April 22 in the village of Malkapur Pangra when all preparations had been made for the ceremony to start at 16.00
The bride and her family waited for the groom but he only arrived at 20.00 when he was drunk, as he was reportedly drinking and having fun with his friends.
The bride’s mother said, “The groom and his friends came at 8 o’clock instead of coming at 4 o’clock, and they started having conflicts, so we married the daughter to one of our relatives.”
According to reports, when the groom showed up late, the bride’s father refused to shake hands with his daughter.
But since all the preparations had been made for the wedding, the father consulted with some relatives and decided to marry her to someone else.
The bride’s father said: “The ceremony should have taken place on April 22, but since the groom’s party was very busy having fun and they arrived four hours late, I married the girl to one of my relatives.”
