After 5 hours of numerous debates and discussions in today’s plenary session, the deputies of the Albanian Parliament have started voting for the extension of the vetting deadlines, while the SMI has abandoned the session.
Monika Kryemadhi spoke after leaving the Assembly and said that she voted abstention for the extension of vetting deadlines and territorial reform and voted in favor of electoral reform.
Kryemadhi revealed that only MP Agron Çela voted in favor of extending the mandate of the judiciary.
Further, the chairwoman of the SMI said that it is enigmatic how the leader of the Democrats Basha changed his mind in just one hour regarding the decision-making in the Assembly.
“DP did not participate in any meeting, nor in the drafting of oppositions, boycotted it and left. It is doubtful the change for an hour from counter to pro. I call on the entire Albanian society to break away once and for all from the sale of citizens’ votes. If there are problems with justice, with European justice, anti-mafia, I do not think that the vote of the deputies will change within an hour.
Albanians are feeling poorer and more disrespected every day! Such a building can not be sacred, how can the signature of the former speaker of parliament be falsified. I voted abstention, we continue to ask for an analysis of justice reform! The justice system continues to be held hostage by a group captured by the government. Mr. Çela voted in favor, I abstained. When the DP changes its mind within an hour, there is no reason not to vote for Çela. Our decision was for abstention. “I voted abstention for territorial reform and in favor of electoral reform,” said Kryemadhi.
