The Tirana court will examine a letter sent to the Ministry of Justice, in which an Albanian citizen is accused by his ex-wife of kidnapping his three children and taking them away from Great Britain.
The father is alleged to have taken the children by deception, first leaving for Scotland and then from 3 April 2022 returning with them to his homeland.
The children, two sons and a daughter, the youngest of whom is three years old, according to the mother, who is also an Albanian citizen, were abducted from their father in breach of the section of the Child Abduction Act 1984 which prohibits parents from taking children out of the Kingdom United without the consent of the parties.
The Albanian couple got married in 2010, immediately after the father of three children, who also has British citizenship, helped his partner to travel to England with a fake passport. But they divorced because of violence.
The woman requests that the Albanian court take custody of her three children until they are handed over to her, as well as that the photographs of the three minors be distributed to the border points.
Court sources indicate that a letter from the central authority of England and Wales is attached to the file, which states that keeping children in Albania without the mother’s permission is in violation of the Hague Convention.
