A UN spokesman has confirmed that the evacuation of civilians from Mariupol was completed successfully.
An operation by the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross, along with Russia and Ukraine, aimed to remove mostly women and children from the Azovstal steel plant.
Previous attempts to evacuate civilians had failed.
Osnat Lubrani, the UN coordinator in Ukraine and humanitarian coordinator, said the people she traveled with told horrifying stories of the hell they went through.
