Next week, more precisely on Tuesday, February 22, in Brussels is expected to take place the next meeting in the framework of the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, at the level of chief negotiators.
This was confirmed by answering a question from Radio Free Europe, Peter Stano, spokesman for the European Union on Foreign Affairs and Security.
“The next meeting at the level of chief negotiators will take place in Brussels on February 22nd, hosted by EU Special Envoy Miroslav Lajcak. This round of meetings will serve to continue the discussions related to the implementation of the agreements reached so far and the next steps in the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.“, Said Stano.
Asked about the possibility of a high-level meeting soon in the framework of the dialogue between the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, Stano answered that, “the development of such a meeting will take place known at an appropriate time ”.
EU sources have said that efforts are being made for a summit to take place before the elections in Serbia, as there have been no such meetings since last summer. They also said that the possibility of a high-level meeting will depend on next week’s meeting at the level of chief negotiators, reports REL.
Earlier, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said: “meetings will be called when there are clear signals from the parties that they are ready to make progress in those meetings”.
