A Frontier Airlines flight from New York to Orlando in the US made an emergency landing yesterday when an out-of-control passenger screamed that the woman behind him “pierced him with a needle to get his DNA”.
The flight from LaGuardia airport to Florida turned into chaos when the obsessed man made the unbelievable claims and started threatening other passengers that he would kill all the people on board, the WTVD network reported.
Passenger Savannah Figueroa said the troubled man “screamed loudly on Tuesday and was upset from the start”.
“The passenger behind him was a lady with her autistic son so I believe he felt the movements from behind the seat. “Then he started saying in horror that ‘these people are touching me, they are trying to pierce me with needles, but they are trying to take my DNA,'” Figueroa told the media.
“The man said, ‘I do not know what they want to do with it, maybe for money, to sell it.’ I do not care that she is a lady with children. “I will shoot them both,” the woman said.
But when flight attendants asked him what was wrong and asked him to lower his voice, he became even more furious, the witness said.
“It was with different waves, sometimes it calmed down and rested, and later everything started as before.”
The video footage shows the flight attendants blocking the cockpit door as passengers and a police officer beat and tie the troubled man with waist belts and plastic clips.
“I believe they were afraid she would go to the pilot to tell her to land the plane,” Figueroa said, adding that she feared for her life and began to think about sending the latest messages to loved ones.
“He was threatening the child, the woman and everyone on the plane, he said he was going to kill us all.”
The flight then changed course and landed at North Carolina Airport, where the threatening man was picked up by police.
Authorities have not identified the man or the charges against him.
The plane stayed on the ground for almost two hours before resuming flight to Orlando, where it arrived at 11:17 p.m.
