Until a year ago, Syrja from the sale of milk managed to earn from 5-10 thousand lek per day, while today the farmer fails to cover the costs of the stable.

Rising prices of agricultural inputs and seeds have put the farmer from Bucova in Fier in economic difficulty.

He says this three-month-old cow no longer brings him any profit. The daily expenses of a cow reach the value of 1000 lek, while from the sale of milk produced by the cow he manages to provide approximately 800 lek per day.

If the prices of agricultural inputs do not fall, Syrjai says his stall will be emptied.

” For years we were good, we managed. After I managed to earn 100-200 lekë per day for cows. While now difficult. Our area here had 6 such stables while now I am the only one left. They all sold them because they could not get out“, Added the breeder.

Expensive livestock feed and the cheap price of milk have left only one large stable in the village, while others have been emptied.
