Chinese President Xi Jinping has communicated with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron about the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
According to Chinese Central Television, the Chinese president told the French president that the parties should seek a solution through negotiations.
Xi also stressed that the resumption of the Normandy format talks between Ukraine, Russia, France and Germany would be the right way to de-escalate tensions.
China has so far refrained from commenting on Russia’s military rise on the border with Ukraine.
