Giykata sentenced a 61-year-old man to one and a half months of probation after finding him guilty of killing a cat.
Citizen V. Marku won a reduced sentence due to the remorse he showed before the court, while from the Prosecution’s investigations he is shown on a security camera repeatedly hitting his pet.
After the violence, the man who was the administrator of the building where the abuse of the animal was recorded put the cat in a black bag and then disappeared.
The case became viral on the social network “Instagram”, but after the investigation started, the accused refused to appear at the police to give a statement. The prosecution said in court that the 61-year-old is socially dangerous after he touched the norms that the law specifically protects. In order to identify the suspect, the police looked at some film footage in the palace, while searching for him, referring him to the capital’s prosecutor’s office for further investigation.
The prosecution concluded the accusation in court this Tuesday and within days the judge declared him guilty, ordering him not to associate with convicted persons and that during this period he should appear at the directorate of the probation service.
