A bus carrying 53 women and children fleeing the war in Ukraine has overturned near the Lithuanian town of Pasvalys.
They were traveling from the Polish-Ukrainian border to Finland when the driver lost control at around 06:00 local time (08:00 GMT), according to the Lithuanian national television channel LRT.
He said at least 10 people, including children, were injured and taken to nearby hospitals. The remaining passengers were taken to the Salociai cultural center.
One of the passengers told the TV channel: We have not slept for three days, maybe all 18 days during which we are being bombed.
“The moment I fell asleep and the bus overturned, my daughter started screaming and we started looking for my granddaughter. She fell from the seat and ended up next to the driver. Thank God he was not hurt“, Said another passenger.
