Near the mall where the deadly attack took place, thousands of concertgoers were inside Copenhagen’s Royal Arena, waiting for Harry Styles to take the stage when news of the fatal shooting broke.
At 20:00 local time, fans were told that the concert would be delayed for an hour, following discussions between the organizers and the police.
But 90 minutes later, it was announced that the concert had been canceled due to “security concerns”, dispersing the 17,000 people gathered.
Police are directing concertgoers to the subway and public transportation, which remains open.
Nearby car parks are closed and hotels in the area are also unable to be accessed by customers.
